The Notaries Society has given guidance on fees to ensure that notarial work is carried out to a proper standard. Colin's charges are at the lower end of the scale of fees in accordance with this guidance.
The minimum fee for a single transaction is £80. This is based upon 15 - 20 minutes of time. If longer than this is required then the charge increses pro-rata. VAT is not charged.
Often notarial documents need to be legalised, usually by being sent to The Foreign & Commonwealth Office, but sometimes also to various embassies in London. This can be arranged for you at additional cost and usually fees can be quoted before the appointment.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and various embassies charge a fee for legalising a document, Such institutions will often only accept Notaries' cheques, not client cheques. Colin can issue a Notary cheque to cover this fee on behalf of Clients.
Clients will always receive a costs estimate prior to work commencing. Sometimes it may be necessary for the documents to be seen before an accurate fee estimate is offered.
